Dr. Shafik Sachedina The Tanzanian Healthcare Entrepreneur And Ismaili Volunteer Trying To Bring Understanding Of Muslims And Other Faiths

Dr. Shafik Sachedina, a Dental surgeon, is currently head of the Department of Jamati institutions at the Secretariat in France. He is also active in the Ismaili community in 16 different areas where there are Ismaili institutes. At the Institute Dr. Shafik Sachedina is mainly responsible for coordinating activities and programs of the Ismaili institutions.

The Institute of Ismaili Studies is an institution that mainly does research located in the UK. It is geared towards giving recognition to Muslim studies, culture societies as well as the historical faith. They also help with growth in the Muslim community. Dr. Shafik Sachedina is also responsible for interfacing with the Aga Khan Development Network in Central Asia.

Dr. Shafik Sachedina does a lot of volunteer work like being the president of Ismaili Council of the UK. This organization is worldwide and bringing together Ismaili Muslims form all backgrounds creating diversity, peace and harmony within the communities they live in around the world. Dr. Shafik Sachediona is mainly focusing on educating others on Muslim studies trying to help bridge the gap with other faiths, to stop the unnecessary bloodshed and fear, while denouncing islamic terrorism.

Dr. Shafik Sachedina was born in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania in 1950 leaving his home country for better opportunity, he went to Guy’s Hospital Medical and dental School, at the University of London. He graduated and in 1975, and his life has been on the fast track, including founding his own healthcare, known as Sussex Healthcare.

At the Sussex Healthcare center, Dr. Shafik Sachedina not only is the founder but also is the chairman of the company that is geared to helping the elderly, especially those with dementia and/or Alzheimers diseases. Sussex started a new sector generated towards helping those with Autism and younger generations getting out of school with severe learning and physical disabilities. It has 24 hr staff, emergency call systems, gym, and local General Practitioners that are on call at all times.

At the ripe age of 68 years old Dr. Shafik Sachedina has a great interest in medical advancement and entrepreneurship within the healthcare industry, he not only wants to watch others succeed but is also bent on helping educate others with Muslim studies hoping to one day unite faiths and bring violence to an end.
